In 1975 this most popular tournament was organised in England which was won by West Indies. Details of all Cricket World Cup History are given below:

1975 Cricket World Cup History :
The 1975 event started on June 7. The matches were played at daytime having 60 overs with 6 balls each per innings. The cricketers dress was of white colour and balls colour was red.
Teams participated were Australia, India, West Indies, Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and a composite team from East Africa. Final of the 1975 Cricket World Cup was played on Lord’s, London between West Indies and Australia teams which was won by West Indies with 17 runs.

1979 Cricket World Cup History :
The 1979 event was hosted by England for a second consecutive time. England and West Indies teams entered in the final tournament of 1979. For this time again West Indies won the match by 92 runs in the final on Lord’s, London.

1983 Cricket World Cup History :
It was the third consecutive time on which England was hosting this event. Final of the tournament was played between India and West Indies teams on Lord’s London. India succeded to win the 1983 Cup by 43 runs.

1987 Cricket World Cup History :
In 1987 the event was held outside England for the first time and was hosted by India and Pakistan. Instead of 60 overs, the matches were started playing with 50 overs per team. The final match was played on Eden Gardens, Kolkata between Australia and England. Australia won the tournament by very closest margin in the Cricket World Cup History of 7 runs.

1992 Cricket World Cup History :
The 1992 event was held in Australia and New Zealand. Lots of changes were done in the matches like players coloured dress, white coloured balls and day/night matches. Final match was played on theMCG, Melbourne in which Pakistan won the championship by 22 runs against England.

1996 Cricket World Cup History :
The 1996 event was hosted by India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The final match was played on Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore between Sri Lanka and Australia. The tournament was won by 7 wickets by Sri Lanka.

1999 Cricket World Cup History :
1999 event was hosted by England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland. The final of the tournament was held in Lord’s, London between Australia and Pakistan. In the match Pakistan made only 132 runs and it was very easy for Australia to win the match. Australia reached the target in 20 overs, with eight wickets in hand. Australia made hat-trick by wining 1999 Cricket World Cup.

2003 Cricket World Cup History :
South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya were the host of the 1999 event. There were fourteen teams who participated in the tournament. The final match was played at the Wanderers, Johannesburg between India and Australia. Australia made 281 runs whereas India failed to reach the target and Australia won the tournament by 125 runs.

2007 Cricket World Cup History :
There were sixteen teams who had participated in 2007 evnt. The matches were held between 13 March and 28 April 2007 and was hosted by West Indies. First there was a pool stage in which all sixteen teams played in round-robin format. After this a “super 8” stage, followed by semi-finals and a final. The final match was played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown between Australia and Sri Lanka. Australia won the tournament over Sri Lanka by 53 runs. Australia made a record in Cricket World Cup History of winning this most popular event for three consecutive time.

The 2011 event is going to held between 19 February and 2 April 2011. The tournament will be co-hosted by Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. There would be 14 countries who will participate for the tournament.
